to keep thee in all thy ways."

Walking In God’s Armor
(A Prayer For Our USA Service)

Lord, we bring before You -
though we may not know each name -
The men and women called to serve.

Lord, they seek no reward or fame.
Lord, grant them wisdom to know Your Word,
and to hide in Your Secret Place.

Keep them in the shelter of Your arms;
help them seek Your Holy face.

Though the world may come against them,
let the arrow that flies by day
Be trampled under feet shod with peace
as they walk in Your steadfast way.

When they see destruction at noonday,
Lord, give them courage to stand
Holding the shield of faith You give
to protect our beautiful land.

Terror may come in the nighttime -
thousands may fall at their side,
But, Lord we pray You’ll protect them -
that in Your grace they’ll abide.

Help them wield the sword of Your Spirit
to fight for the freedom You give
Whether on the shores of our enemies,
or in the land where we live.

We know You have heard our prayers, Dear Lord,
as our soldiers take the helmet of salvation.

Guide them in Your righteousness
as they stand proudly defending our nation.

Prayer Works

I would like to share something a woman from Australia sent me in response to a prayer request I put up on one of our prayer boards. It is my hope that none of us will take the call to pray for our military lightly.

I just want you to know I'm praying for all the dear ones who will be sent off to fight for freedom at this terrible time. May the Lord protect and defend them all. I will be praying Psalm 91 over them continually, and will continue to ask God to uphold them by His mighty right arm. There was a company in World War II who prayed Psalm 91 over themselves every day, and every one in that company returned home safely, so the Word of the Lord is indeed a double-edged sword, a mighty weapon for us to wield on behalf of these precious sons and daughters. May the Lord protect your beloved son, and bring him home safely to you. Our Prime Minister has committed our troops to fight with yours under American command, and there will be many other nations joining with America in this. May the Lord be glorified and His holy Name be praised. And may God bless you, and all the mothers and fathers who send their precious ones off to war, entrusting them to God's protection.
