Hallowed Ground
By CeilO
...and all the world chose silence
as they sealed the hallowed ground
Remaining Forces regimin'd
Salute the quiet found.

The ashes scooped
as children's pails
The sands of lives enfold.
Our world was changed
with this great dust.
A final tribute told.

Our broken hearts do mend
we've seen
Our resolute is just.
America stands tall before
Our God in Whom we trust.
We are indeed "ONE NATION UNDER GOD."
(there should never be a comma!)

THIS DAY
(when we held hope some would be found alive)
by Ceil O
THIS day Most Gracious Father
help us thru
the ones b4
the ones gone past
are NOT
our memories gasp
too close to linger
our hearts need breath
for what might be
THIS day Most Gracious God
help us to tread
we have not strength
alone - no hope
many loves gone from us
many faces
strangers then
now our prayers for hope
THIS day Most Gracious God
we mourn those gone
we pray for life those
grasp in dimness
LIGHT their spirits
Our Sweet Jesus
if transcend
to hold Your Joy
THIS day Most Gracious Jesus
no more tears to dry
the many names and faces,
much too young
and full of life they were
such love...
and God IS Love
amen and amen
